The Mandela Effect conspiracy theory is based around the notion that some people do not remember Nelson Mandela becoming the South African president. Instead, they remember him dying in a South African prison cell.
The main idea of this theory is that we have changed or merged timelines with a parallel universe. Potentially initiated deliberately or accidentally by the CERN particle accelerator.
